Bariatric Surgery Before & After

Disclaimer:  The bariatric surgery before & after photos below are the personal experience of individual patients. The results may vary from person to person, depending on age, sex, body weight and many other factors.

To learn more about what makes bariatric patients successful, check our our website, SageBariatric.com. and our YouTube channel.

Bariatric surgery is an incredibly powerful tool. It helps patients eat less, but the key factor in success is in patients’ willingness to follow the bariatric guidelines we teach.  A surgery without adherence to the guidelines will only be successful for a short period of time.  Roughly 30% of patients will regain the weight they lose.  Nearly 100% of the time this is not a failure of the procedure; rather, it is a failure of the tool to be used properly.

Bariatric Surgery Support

Sage Bariatric Institute Nutrition Classes

We offer extensive education and support for our patients in order to maximize their success.  Utilizing this education and support are critical to long-term success.

Our program sees patients at 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and every year for life.  We make sure our patients are staying on track, adhering to diet and behavior guidelines, and are maintaining good nutrition.  We have many resources in our Patient Education section of our website, as well as monthly support groups.  A registered dietician teaches our classes and is available to our patients for one-on-one consults as well.

In our building, we partner with a physical therapy group that helps our patients exercise in a way that facilitates weight loss.  They help patients lose fat and not muscle, which is important for keeping weight off as well.  Also in our building is the Bariatric Counseling Center, which helps our patients address obesity from a psychological standpoint.  Patients learn about their relationship with food and how to make it a healthy one. They have cooking classes, movement classes, as well as individual and group counseling.

Bariatric surgery is a life-changing procedure, but it requires life-changes in order to be successful.  At Sage Bariatric Institute, we are committed to helping you do that.
