Henneth A. Corado Montenegro, MD is an Obesity Medicine Physician at Sage Bariatric Institute. She is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Corado received her medical degree from Universidad de Carabobo, Venezuela, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Carney Steward Hospital with Tufts University in Boston.  She is fluent in Spanish and French.

Following residency, Dr. Corado served as a primary care physician in a traditional setting providing inpatient and outpatient care for her patients in Boston.
Before joining Sage Bariatric Weight loss center, she was an Assistant Professor of Medicine with UT health San Antonio. She developed her skills and passion for treating obesity in the primary care setting. During her training and clinical practice, she focused on prevention and management of chronic medical diseases and quickly realized the common link to many of those: the crisis of unhealthy weight and its complications. She witnessed and experienced first-hand how  weight stigma and weight bias impact the health of individuals and how it interferes with providing adequate, medical evidence care for such vulnerable patients.

Seeking to provide the best support for her patients, she became a diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine in 2019. There is no shortage of tips for weight loss around, but most of them would not result in lasting weight loss. Dr. Corado can guide you through your journey providing you with support, medications, techniques and tools for durable weight loss.

Dr. Corado joined The Sage Bariatric Weight Loss Center in Spring 2020, providing her expertise in clinical nutrition, clinical management before and after weight loss surgery and non-surgical weight loss management.
